COLLABORATION / SYNERGY As we approach the completion of our second anthology Wisdom for the Soul of Black Folk, there is still time to submit your favorite quotes for consideration. Be a part of this historic initiative to document and make more widely available the wisdom of the African diaspora. SUMMER FUN Have a go. Submit your favorite quotations by Black authors for inclusion in Wisdom for the Soul of Black Folk which is now being compiled. To add to the fun, sweeten the pot as Jamaicans say, your name will be listed in the book if we use 5 or more of your quotes. If we use 20 or more of your submissions, you get billing as a Contributing Editor. Submit online or send to submissions. |
Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does. | |

CONNECTION TRIVIA: In the course of his research on Malcolm Gladwell, author of the bestsellers The Tipping Point and Blink, for Wisdom for the Soul of Black Folk, Larry realized he knew Gladwell's mother and may have met Malcolm himself as a child. Joyce Gladwell's sister, Faith Linton, taught Larry in high school in Brown's Town, St Ann, Jamaica, where she likely brought the Gladwells to shop in his family's grocery store when they came on holiday. In The Tipping Point, Gladwell writes about Stanley Milgram's chain letter experiment which showed basically six degrees of separation between everyone. Since Larry could get a letter to Malcolm in three steps, does that make him a Connector? |
